One More Dance, 2022
This is a reimagined version of the original bluegrass classic Kentucky Waltz by Bill Monroe which was made famous in the 1940s. I've always liked this song for its quaint and simple nature. I liked it so much I wrote an extra verse to it and reached out to Aaron Campbell to make an entirely new jazz/country/soft rock/last-song-at-the-dance-hall-on-a Saturday-night version of it, and I'm proud of what we did!
Its Christmas Time (You're All Mine) 2020
A fun Jingly jangly jolly Christmas tune that brings me lots of joy. Words and inspiration by me, Music created by Aaron Campbell.
Solo Project: Summer Evenings 2018
About the Album
This studio created album was the result of a singer/songwriter reaching out to a recording engineer with the challenge: “Hey, so, I’ve written these songs, can you help me find some musicians to play some parts?” Almost like magic, for each song that was pitched, an all star team was assembled and history was made. Jack Dunlap was recruited for mandolin as well as lead acoustic guitar on Wisdom and Summer Evenings. Malia Furtado graciously played fiddle on The Dance and Angel Fiddle. Cody Brown was brought in for percussion on The Dance, and Ozzy Strosnider was recruited for lap pedal steel guitar for Dont Make Me Lie To You. Jeremy Rodgers played his upright bass throughout the CD. Thanks so much to this amazing group of people for sharing their talents on this album!
This project went suspiciously well. It was a joy to grow these songs from the ground up and watch them bloom into what they are now. Also, fun fact, the first song that was recorded,"Wisdom", actually won first place in the 2017 Chautauqua Creative Writing Contest Songwriting Category.
This album is meant to be listened to in the car on your way to work as you drink your coffee, on your weekly jog through the woods, in the background as you clean your house, cook your breakfast, or weed your garden. “Life isn’t a support system for art. It’s the other way around.” -Stephen King. I feel the times I've been most inspired by music is when I'm in the middle of doing something and a song comes on that stops me in my tracks. Maybe these songs will do the same for you!
